Jan 21,  · Specifically I have always used the Essentials tool for syncing local accounts with Office accounts. My understanding is that the typical method of syncing Office with Windows server involves AAD Connector. I tried looking at a couple of AAD Connector Howtos but frankly they made the process seem a bit daunting and overly complex. Apr 16,  · The R2 server previously handled the AD sync with O Upon installing Essentials , we followed the setup wizard and and let Essentials integrate with O This when we noticed password sync was not occurring. We removed all Azure software from the R2 and decommissioned it to a member server. Nov 23,  · WIndows Server Essentials R2 password sync to Office not working. i would download and install AADSync and not worry about the essentials integration. it’s better. fyi – if you had essentials, a version of AADSync is in there that lets you pull down your o accounts into AD. The registry fix you posted two months ago /5().

The R2 server previously handled the AD sync with O Upon installing Essentials , we followed the setup wizard and and let Essentials integrate with O This when we noticed password sync was not occurring. We removed all Azure software from the R2 and decommissioned it to a member server.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Please make sure that the Office integration is configured in a single DC environment and Office integration wizard runs on a DC. Meanwhile, if possible, use an other local AD admin account to configure the AAD Connect wizard to see if the issue persists.

The R2 server has been decommissioned and AD roles were removed. The only DC is the Essentials server. I’ll follow the suggested article and install AAD Connect on the Essentials server and report back shortly. The installed operating system is not supported. Azure AD Connect must be installed on a supported operating system. The server must be using Windows Server standard or better. To configure the synchronization between local AD and Office cloud, this component is needed.

So I mentioned it in my first reply. However, we should let you know that limitation. Sorry about it. And it is suggested you download the IdFix tool to check this issue. Feel free to let us know the result. Meanwhile, we’d like to do more research about this case. Once get any information, we will update you immediately.

We would highly appreciate your patience. IdFix v1. The Query count was with 4 errors. The 4 errors are pointing to four user accounts, three of which that do not have associated O accounts:. When we look into the O portal, there is an account for Scans which states it’s synced with AD but it is unlicensed. None of the other three accounts have associated O accounts.

One account is the exact duplicate of the other. It’s the same account that is listed in Directory Sync Status in the image I provided. It’s a member of the last group because it pushed our user account limit to exceed 25 users. It is not a member of. Those three groups have no users.

We checked the old DC, which is now the only member server, and they are not listed there either. But that could be a result of removing AAD Connect and the sync client previously. So it’s a mystery to us if Essentials requires those services. When Essentials asked to be connected to O, we used an In Cloud O admin account that is unlicensed and only exists in the O portal and not in our local AD. When we run it the error Operating System Not Supported appears. In fact, we had to remove another app through Control Panel because of the same error.

Doing this we noted two Microsoft apps that we’re unsure are related to O The latter is the only one that we can find an associated service for and it is running. We can’t find specific applications, services, or user accounts related to Essentials O integration.

Should we disable O integration through the dashboard and re-enable it? Should we change the O administrator account through the dashboard to a local AD account? Thanks for your reply. Given this situation, you should disable the Office integration and then re-enable it. When you re-enable it, please use an licensed Office admin account to configure the integration.

Essentials dashboard is reporting that the Azure and O services are enabled: But O portal is reporting that no synchronization has occurred: The directory sync service account still refers to the R2 server CKSERV. Event Viewer is displaying: Anyone familiar with this issue?
