This upgrade requires a reboot, and your computer will automatically restart your computer may restart several times. Once your computer restarts, the upgrade will continue. You will be required to restart your computer one more time upon completion. When your computer restarts after the upgrade is complete, you should see the normal login screen. Hit Enter on your keyboard and type in your Campus ‘w’ username and password to log back into the machine. When logging in for the first time after completing the upgrade, some modifications will be applied to the user profile.

Users currently not on campus: Those who are working remote or have a computer on-campus that they are not currently using will need to run this update once you have returned to campus.

Important Notes: If you are performing this update on a laptop, CaTS suggests plugging your laptop in to ensure your device doesn’t shut down while the update is in progress. If you are performing this update from an off-campus location, you will need to connect to the VPN before accessing Software Center to run the update.

You will receive a prompt to begin the upgrade; click Install. As the upgrade runs, Software Center will close and the update will continue. This update introduces the latest version of the Microsoft Edge browser, which is the first one that works based on Chromium.

In the past, you needed to download the latest version of Microsoft Edge or install Microsoft Edge using Windows Update. Now, the browser already comes with the Windows 10 October update.

Please note that you cannot uninstall the latest version of Microsoft Edge even if you roll back to an earlier version.

This update simplifies the Start menu by removing the color panel behind the logo in the app list and applying a uniform and partially transparent background. Windows 10 20H2 also allows you to set the actual display rule all web pages, the latest five web pages, the latest three web pages, or disabled based on your needs.

This update adds a feature that allows you to pin your tasks to the taskbar You can then simply move your mouse to the appropriate fixed item to see a preview of all the opened tabs.
